Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Hustle.
Hi DJ , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
First, thank you to VoyageLA for the opportunity to share my story.
For those who may not know me, I’m DJ Hustle®, also known simply as Hustle. DJ Hustle® is my professional DJ brand, and Hustle is my SAG-AFTRA screen name for my acting career. I’m an actor, DJ, TV host, and entrepreneur, and entertainment has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
My journey started at a young age. I performed in plays in preschool, middle school, and high school, and I also sang in choir. Those early experiences gave me confidence and taught me how to perform in front of an audience. As I got older, I expanded into dance, appearing on shows like Star Search, Party Machine, Soul Train, and American Bandstand. I later appeared in music videos, national television commercials, and films, continuing to build my acting career.
At the same time, I fell in love with DJing. While many people encouraged me to choose between acting and music, I believed I could succeed in both. During the day I studied scripts and prepared for auditions, and at night I practiced on my turntables, learning the art of mixing, scratching, and reading a crowd. That commitment to both crafts shaped who I am today.
Over the years, I also created HustleTV, which gave me the opportunity to interview celebrities, athletes, musicians, and entrepreneurs while covering major entertainment events. Hosting, acting, and DJing all complemented one another and helped me grow as an entertainer and business owner.
Today, I’m proud to have built DJ Hustle® into a nationally recognized, federally trademarked brand. I provide premium DJ entertainment, MC services, lighting, and Photo Booth experiences for corporate events, luxury weddings, brand activations, festivals, and private celebrations throughout California, Las Vegas, and beyond. Alongside my entertainment business, I continue to pursue acting opportunities in television, film, and commercials.
Looking back, my journey has never been about overnight success. It’s been built on faith, discipline, consistency, and a willingness to keep learning and evolving. Every stage I’ve stepped onto, every audition I’ve prepared for, and every event I’ve performed has helped shape the person and professional I am today. I’m grateful for the journey and excited for what lies ahead.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. I don’t think any successful business owner would say the road has been completely smooth. Every stage of growth brings new challenges, and I’ve learned to embrace them as part of the journey.
One of my biggest challenges has been growing my business beyond California. We recently expanded by opening another location in Las Vegas, and while it’s been an exciting opportunity, it has also required a lot of planning, relationship-building, and consistency. Building a presence in a new market doesn’t happen overnight—you have to earn people’s trust and prove yourself all over again.
Today, we’re providing DJ entertainment for business conferences, trade shows, and corporate events in Las Vegas, averaging three to four events a month, while continuing to serve clients throughout California. Balancing two markets, along with my acting career, means managing travel, scheduling, and staying focused on delivering the same high level of service every time.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that challenges never really go away—they just change as your business grows. Instead of looking at obstacles as setbacks, I see them as opportunities to improve, adapt, and become better. That’s the mindset that’s helped me continue growing both my business and my career.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m fortunate to have built two careers that I’m equally passionate about. I’m a SAG-AFTRA actor, a professional DJ, TV host, and entrepreneur. While many people know me as DJ Hustle®, I also work under the screen name Hustle in my acting career. I’ve always believed I didn’t have to choose one passion over the other—I could pursue both with the same level of commitment.
As an actor, I continue to work in television commercials, film, and other productions. One of my recent projects was an Uber Rideshare commercial for the FIFA Super Fan campaign, which is currently airing. Every audition and every role challenges me to grow, and I love the creative process that comes with acting.
As DJ Hustle®, I specialize in corporate events, conferences, trade shows, luxury weddings, brand activations, and private celebrations. My goal is simple: create an unforgettable experience. I don’t just play music—I read the room, connect with the audience, and bring the energy that keeps people engaged from the first song to the last.
What I’m most proud of is being able to successfully balance two demanding careers while continuing to grow in both. That takes discipline, preparation, and a genuine love for what I do.
I believe what sets me apart is my versatility. My experience as an actor, TV host, and DJ allows me to connect with people in a unique way. Whether I’m in front of a camera, on a red carpet, or behind the turntables, I bring the same professionalism, energy, and commitment to excellence. At the end of the day, I want every client, casting director, and audience member to know they’re working with someone who genuinely cares about delivering their very best.
What matters most to you? Why?
Throughout my career, whether I’m acting, DJing, or hosting, I’ve learned that relationships are everything. I genuinely care about people and want to make a positive impact through my work. Whether it’s helping create an unforgettable event, encouraging someone to pursue their dreams, or simply treating everyone with respect, I believe people should always come first.
At the same time, I’ve learned that caring about others also means setting healthy boundaries. As someone who works in the entertainment industry and runs a business, it’s easy to give so much of yourself that you forget to take care of your own well-being. I’m human, just like everyone else, and I’ve realized that having strong boundaries allows me to be at my best for my clients, my family, my friends, and myself.
For me, success isn’t just measured by accomplishments or awards. It’s measured by how you treat people, the relationships you build, and the positive impact you leave behind. That’s what matters most to me.
